JOB SUMMARY: The Coordinator, Social Media will elevate the club’s social media channels with the development of innovative content, online community management and engagement, and real-time social media coverage of Rangers-affiliated baseball games and events. This position requires a heavily creative imagination and technical skillset combined with excellent communication skills across all departments within the Rangers organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Concept, create, edit, and publish content for team’s social media channels
- Cover Rangers games on club social media channels with creative real-time messaging and tactics that engage followers and non-followers of the Rangers
- Edit in-game videos in real-time for quick turnaround on team’s social media channels
- Work within the established voice of the Rangers brand to promote positive fan engagement and to drive demand for Rangers content
- Collaborate with peers within the marketing department (Content, Graphics, Ballpark Entertainment, and Digital & Social) to create and execute on-brand content
- Proactively monitor content trends, new platforms, and best practices to consistently provide cutting-edge Rangers content
- Collaborate across the organization to concept, create and schedule upcoming social media posts for variety of Rangers initiatives, partnerships, and offers
- Moderate all user-generated content on multiple platforms and engage with followers
- Compile recap reports of social content when requested
- Work nights, weekends, and some holidays, based on the baseball season schedule
- Attend select Globe Life Field and/or Foundation events to collect content and post on specific channels
- Other responsibilities as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to speak Spanish fluently
- 1-2 years of work experience in social media management & content creation
- Experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Light Room, Photoshop, and other editing software
- Vast understanding of the sports industry’s social media landscape
- Exceptional communication skills, including writing and grammatical ability
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Multimedia Journalism, or related field
- Knowledge of Texas Rangers and baseball heavily preferred
- Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
- Ability to work in tight deadlines
- Ability to work long hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays
- Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented
