JOB TITLE: OPTICAL MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY: Provide an upbeat and productive work environment in the entire office. You will provide a broad range of clerical, customer / patient service support. You will have the responsibilities such as directing optical services, repairing and adjusting eyewear, maintaining inventories, hiring and training staff, and ensuring products and services quality. As manager you will showcase assets such as eyecare expertise, leadership, managerial skills, attention to details, customer service-next to none! Basic accounting skills, and create teamwork atmosphere.
JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide professional sales and services in exceeding the patients needs on each visit.
- Market and promote optical practice to maximize sales and build patient loyalty.
- Maintain and execute constant high expectation work atmosphere to provide outstanding professional customer service.
- Maintain with levels of optical industry to ensure up to date products and market knowledge.
- Train and educate staff to meet company guidelines, policies, and goals.
- Administrative operations including hiring, firing, associate reviews, training objectives and management team meetings.
- Networking and co-managing with local businesses.
- Implement advertising and internal strategies to consistently increase customer base.
- Prepare monthly budgets and sales projections.
- Establish educational seminars for staff, for latest product knowledge.
- Manage department work schedule based on business forecast.
- Maintain an organized and efficient department to meet sales goals.
- Analyze policies and procedures to ensure office compliance.
- Monitor sales and inventories to ensure profitability.
- Manage and update all patient information on POS system.
- Track and keep records of billing from different insurance companies.
- Inspect quality of out-going merchandise.
- Assist with sales of merchandise.
- Ensure staff is properly trained in assisting patients with selecting lenses for their life styles, such as progressives, and add-ons.
- Assist / train staff to be cross-trained, ie; series of pre-test, including OTC, and visual field.
- Foster and support a productive, positive employee culture in your office.
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or general education degree.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction. Ability to effectively present information in 1 on 1 and small group situations, to patients, and other employees of the office.
- Ability to delegate specific tasks.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision or encouragement
