What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electronic Research Specialist position at Texas State University?
Posting Information
- Under general direction, maintains and updates existing IT systems and databases in response to client requirements
- Designs, codes, and tests new application solutions
- Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development logic, coding, testing, changes and corrections
- Provides client support and training; utilize various databases to generate meaningful information to facilitate decision making
- Conduct quantitative analysis on research trends, characteristics and outcomes to college administrators
- Consults, advises research administrators on data needs
- Ensures the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of data for both internal and external reports and projects
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience in complex database query design
- Experience in objected oriented programming
- Knowledge of statistical analysis in interpretation, presentation, and organization of data
- Strong problem solving and communication skills, ability to multi-task and work under pressure
Responsible for developing highly complex information management system and business management system software to support critical operations of AVPR and researchers on campus
