RF Lead Project Engineer
Salt Lake City, Utah- Hybrid
Position Summary
Thales is currently looking for an RF Lead Project Engineer who is responsible for the technical project deliveries (Navigation Aids (NAVAIDs) and vary between full design and development projects to delivery based projects) to either internal or external customers: lead a team of engineers to produce project deliverables that meet cost, schedule and technical goals while working closely with the Project Manager to ensure all technical objectives of the project are being met.
Regulatory Compliance Requirements
Must be a U.S. Person as defined in applicable law, or otherwise authorized or eligible for authorization, to access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
Key Areas of Responsibility
Communicate with the customer’s engineering teams to explain and “sell” various technical aspects of the design and act as the primary technical contact for customer on all technical issues.
Find solutions to technical problems from the system level to the circuit level.
Produce project planning, requirements, and testing documents while playing an active part in the day-to-day design and development decision-making process.
Perform development and/or maintenance of specifications, interfaces, design, implementation, integration, and testing of Navigation Aid products to support the team’s ability to achieve success.
Capture of customer requirements and flow down into System/Subsystem Specification (SSS) requirements to determine collectively the relevant modifications to the hardware, software and system.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Systems, Electrical or Software Engineering, or another technical field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, or Master’s degree in Systems, Electrical or Software Engineering
Prior experience in RF design and development of complex Radio Frequency hardware
At least 6 years of progressively responsible engineering experience, including Project Engineering
Hands on experience with electrical engineering; specifically the design and implementation of circuit card assemblies.
At least 5 years of experience in all stages of design, development, testing and manufacturing.
Strong appreciation of Safety and Safety Assurance within the Engineering.

Special Position Requirements
Travel: Anticipated to be less than 10% annually. Trips can be both domestic and international travel and less than 5 days in length, with international trips up to 7 days in length.
