Landscape Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 
  Responsible for ensuring that the supported worker’s rights and dignity are protected and that they have maximum opportunities to fully participate as a member of the landscape department.
• To be the “safety professional,” always ensuring that safety policies and procedures are followed without exception.
• Assume responsibility of all equipment used on jobs, including care and safe operation, promptly reporting damage or loss.
• Submit manifests and other documentation as required.
• Participate in the development and implementation of individual plans for assigned workers and maintain pertinent documentation.
• Take responsibility for the professional maintenance of assigned contracts, ensuring contract requirements are completed within allotted time.
• As a working supervisor, demonstrate the techniques used in landscape work, and set the pace for the workers.
• Apply pesticides as needed, keeping accurate records as required by Maryland Department of Agriculture.
• Maintain assigned vehicle, reporting problems or damage immediately, arrange for service as required. Complete vehicle maintenance records as required.
• Complete all agency required trainings for position.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• 
  High School Diploma /GED required.
• Professional landscape maintenance experience required (i.e. mowing, mulching, and pruning).
• Experience with individuals with disabilities helpful.

• Driver’s license required and approved clean driving record necessary.

• Must be able to lift 75 pounds, push, pull, and carry a variety of tools, equipment, and supplies. Requires good physical coordination and stamina.
• Must be able to drive a large 6-wheel crew-cab landscape truck, and pull a 20’ landscape trailer.

• May be required to work evenings, weekends or holidays as required by work schedule (including snow removal) or trainings.

• All work is outdoors year-round. Must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Required to pass DOT physical.
• Assigned work requires use of many types of power equipment.
• Work locations are commercial, industrial, and public, including various transit systems.
