What is this job all about?

The Behavior Technician Supervisor (BTS) is the bridge between Behavior Support Technicians (BSTs), people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and day-to-day operations of Individual Supported living (ISL).  You will encourage and mentor individuals and Behavior Support Technicians by supporting them in maximizing their full potential.  The BTS role is involved in providing training and supports to all aspects of individuals life activities and to BSTs working within their assigned clients' home (ISL).

Training and support for individuals includes:

  • Daily life skills of:
    1. Cooking
    2. Cleaning
    3. Hygiene
    4. Purchasing of groceries
    5. Food preparation
    6. Medication administration
    7. Behavioral care
    8. Community participation
    9. Management of personal funds

Training and support for BSTs and the ISL includes assisting the Program Supervisor in:

  • Helping implement personal plans (the story of the individual you’re serving including their history, goals, and achievements)
  • Implementing and communicating directives 
  • Maintaining necessary records and reports
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of a therapeutic environment (keeping their houses happy and cozy)

Currently, there is a specific need for someone with the passion and experience to support young adult individuals who are more frequently experiencing a physical behavioral crisis. These BTSs will work closely with the Registered Behavior Technicians, Applied Behavior Analysis Specialist, and Board Certified Behavior Analysts as well as Behavior Consultant and Program Supervisor to implement the individuals' behavior support plans, track and log behavioral outcomes, and support the individuals' through crises while working to help make a difference in their day to day lives.

  • Wage starting at $21.50 per hour with potential for annual wage increases based on performance – experience-based pay rates available

What do I need to be qualified for this position?

  • Diploma from an accredited high school or equivalent.    
  • Six months experience providing direct care, treatment, and habilitation in the human service field. 
    1. Experience providing direct care, treatment and habilitation to individuals who have intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and/or behavior disorders is preferred
