Waiter/Server - JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible to wait on residents, obtain orders and serve food to Residents ensuring timely service to maximize the taste and temperature of the dining experience.
Schedule: Part Time - Sun, Tues, Wed, Fri : 4pm-8pm
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Waiter/Server
1. Provide excellent customer service to all Residents and guests.
2. Work in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow employees.
3. Check floor plan for assigned station and side work.
4. Assist other employees in the performance of their assignments. Seek out opportunities to help rather than waiting to be asked.
5. Recognize the need for variations in staffing and volunteer to fill open shifts.
6. Check station tables for settings and cleanliness, especially inspecting glass and silverware and remove and/or replace as necessary.
7. Read the menu and know the selections prior to approaching the wait station.
8. Distribute and collect menus.
9. Greet all Residents and guests. Assist guests to table and help them fold walkers as needed.
10. Take meal orders.
11. Assist in the plating and proper portion controls of some or all of the following: appetizer, salads, soup, beverages and desserts for Residents and guests.
12. Before serving, checks meal to see that it is appetizing in appearance and presents well.
13. Serve meal to Residents and Guests.
14. Checks back to tables after meal is served to see that meal is acceptable and that Residents have everything needed for a satisfying dining experience.
15. Clean and sanitize the following; commercial coffee maker, ice tea machine, juice and /or soda dispenser, ice cream freezer, soft serve yogurt, reach-in refrigerators and freezers, bussing carts, conveyor and/or popup toaster, stainless steel, storage and production surfaces
16. Vacuum floor mats, floors
17. Respond to resident questions about the food, if possible, if not, report the question the Chef on duty.
18. Pick up all dirty dishes as Resident finishes courses.
19. Bus tables at end of meal. Carry soiled dishes, utensils, etc., to wash area; scrape dishes and place in the dish drop off area.
20. Demonstrate proper storage practices, including, time and date labeling, quality assurance, categorizing storage areas and stock rotation.
21. Re-sets tables in station completely, including wiping down vases, salt and pepper shakers, change tablecloths, wipe chairs and chair legs. Sweep floor in service area.
22. Assure that condiments and supplies for next meal are readily available.
23. Do special assigned cleaning jobs based on periodic schedules.

24. Assist with clean-up of kitchen as assigned.
25. Monitor Residents’ dietary needs and make menu suggestions accordingly.
26. Monitor Residents’ eating habits and report anything unusual to the Director of Resident Service.
27. Wear proper and clean uniform as directed by the Bristal.
28. Remove trash as required.
29. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Executive Director or Manager on duty.
QUALIFICATIONS: Waiter/Server
· Must be willing to wait on tables.
· Must be friendly and courteous.
· Must be willing to work as a team.
· Must be able to carry a tray of about 30 pounds on shoulder.
· Write legibly in English.
· Must communicate in English.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Waiter/Server
· Constantly on feet, 100% of time
· Lifting heavy trays up to thirty (30) pounds, 25 % of time
· Bending, stooping, carrying
· Exposure to heat in kitchen, cold walk-in refrigerator and freezers, Resident dining rooms and outside elements
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
