The Controller, Family Office, assumes a pivotal role in simplifying the intricacies of multi-asset, multi-individual family ownership, and wealth management. This position involves providing meticulously designed and flawlessly executed accounting, reporting, tax, estate, philanthropic, and personal financial planning services. As a Controller, Family Office, key responsibilities include designing and maintaining critical accounting tools for various assets, enabling the CEO and Ownership Group to manage asset complexities, organizing financial reports, collaborating with tax accountants and investment managers, defining accounting policies, and supporting estate planning, among other tasks. The role requires a high degree of autonomy, proactive creation of structures and processes, and a commitment to being of service to the family ownership group.
Position requirements for this role include a Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or a related field, 5 years of proven accounting experience, professional experience in commercial real estate (a plus), and a professional accounting certification or CPA (also a plus).
The ideal candidate is characterized by high proficiency in Excel and Microsoft suite products, experience in building forecasting and investment models, detail-oriented and self-motivated with strong communication and organizational skills. The candidate should be a team player, proactive problem solver, and demonstrate trustworthiness and discretion in handling sensitive financial matters.
