What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard Trainee position at The City of Cocoa Beach?
Responsible for the safety and well-being of patrons, including performing water rescue, CPR, and First Aid.
Required to clean pool, deck, and surrounding areas, including restrooms, pavilion, and concession areas.
Year-round, part-time, to include weekdays, weekends, and holidays, including religious holidays.
Lifeguard wage: $11.37 per hour, depending on qualifications.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must pass a physical competency test to include swim 300 yards & tread water 2 minutes without using hands
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
CERTIFICATION TRAINING PROVIDED TO QUALIFIED APPLICANTS.
May be required to work during a declared emergency and may be requested to work during an undeclared emergency or in the aftermath of an event associated with a declared emergency. On an incident-by-incident basis, the employee's Department Head or designee will make the determination when the employee will be required to work.
