Position Title: Registered Nurse

- Criminal Background check – over two years since prior conviction
- TB skin test: Must have a test or provide proof of one within the past year.
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and current automobile insurance.
- Required: Registered Nurse Certification.
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
Position Summary: Responsible for medically assessing clients upon intake in the agency office. Special level of skill required for the treatment and care of substance use disorder clients. Part of this position will be to evaluate the needs of potential and current clients as well as administer treatments and therapies under the direction of Agency Physician or Psychiatrists. Supervise and create work schedules for staff of LPNs.

Physical and Environmental Demands: Visual acuity and manual dexterity are needed for the required paperwork. Frequent talking and hearing are required when communicating with co-workers, families, and other service providers. Physical demands are light with walking, standing, and occasional stooping.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Able to provide quality customer service to personnel, persons served, families, and stakeholders.
2. Helps maintain the health, safety, and welfare of personnel, persons served, and stakeholders.
3. Maintain current licensure and certifications.
4. Supervise and provide supervision for LPNs.
5. Provide medical and medication assessments with clients.
6. Identifies client care requirements by establishing rapport with potential, and actual clients and follows Detox protocols.
7. Promotes client’s independence by establishing client care goals; teaching client to understand their condition, medications, and self-care skills, and answering questions.
8. Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against client care goals and standards, making or recommending necessary adjustments; following agency and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by State Board of Nursing, State Nursing Practice Act and other governing agency regulations.
9. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and rules and regulations.
10. Protects clients and personnel by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
11. Document client care services by charting client and department records.
12. Schedule clients to see the Physician and Psychiatrist.
13. Ensures and maintains client confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations.
14. Medical administration record, disposal of discontinued medications, and training of non-license personnel in medication administration.
15. Provides feedback and education to all clients in collaboration with the management team.
16. On-call responsibilities.
17. Provide medication training to Substance Abuse Technicians and Peer Support Specialists to assist the clients with their medications.
18. Serve as a liaison for the Physician, Psychiatrist, and Pharmacy.
19. Complete phone screenings.
20. Assist with Health and Safety policy development and implementation.
21. Prepare Plans and follow-ups in accordance with CARF Standards.
22. Other duties as assigned
