Development Manager
Job Overview
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Manager will be responsible for implementation of the organization’s fundraising efforts as well as coordination and management of grant-funded special projects.
This staff member will serve as the organization’s development “Chief of Staff” and ensure that all ambassadors (board and staff) have what they need to be successful in their efforts to increase financial resources. The Development Manager will develop systems, plan and execute fundraisers, manage social media accounts, research prospects, and assist the Executive Director in cultivating prospects, stewarding donors, and closing gifts. S/he will also work as a staff liaison with the Fundraising Committee to ensure that the board has tools and training and is fully engaged in the efforts to raise needed funds.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Create and implement a system for tracking, cultivating, and stewarding donors.
- Develop and implement an organizational strategy for resource development including individual donors, major gifts, foundation or corporate giving, and government grants.
- Act as a staff liaison with the board’s development committee and ensure the board and staff have the training and resources necessary to raise needed funds.
- Coordinate and manage fundraising events alongside the Fundraising Committee
- Ensure compliance and reporting requirements are met for all foundation and government grants.
- Coordinate and manage volunteers
Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with a
- Bachelor's degree in business, non-profit management, or related field or equivalent years of experience.
- Superb written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Time management and flexibility with job duties
- Excellent fundraiser planning and execution
- Proficient with social media platforms.
- Creative, self-starter attitude
- Ability to work independently
- Donor and volunteer service mentality
- Organized and inspiring team leader
- Availability to work and travel outside of regular business hours
- Business development or sales experience
- Demonstrated understanding of best practices in fundraising
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, customer relationship management (CRM) software and social media platforms
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $29,000.00 - $32,000.00 per year
