Easterseals Lonestar, a leading nonprofit providing services to children and adults with disabilities, and Vaughn House, a nonprofit helping adults who are deaf and have intellectual and developmental disabilities, had an agreement to merge which went into effect on January 1, 2015.
Vaughn House Mission: To create opportunities for deaf adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live satisfying, independent and productive lives and to enjoy the same rights, freedoms, and responsibilities as their fellow citizens.
Position Summary:
The Day Habilitation (Day Hab) Program Specialist works at Vaughn House, supports individuals with IDD and who are Deaf, and Hard of hearing attending Day Programming in participating in social, recreational, and independent living activities designed to promote skills and abilities associated with activities of daily living, building friendships, and actively participating in community-based activities. The specialist will monitor and assist individuals with daily living skills, medicine, personal hygiene, and social skills.
