Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Southern American cuisine and a passion for creating delicious and memorable dishes. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for developing and refining recipes, overseeing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recipe Development: Create and refine recipes that align with The Food Peddler’s Southern American cuisine, ensuring consistency and high quality.
- Process Development: Develop and implement kitchen processes to optimize efficiency and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
- Menu Planning: Design seasonal and special event menus that showcase creativity and appeal to our diverse customer base.
- Kitchen Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and ordering supplies.
- Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Quality Control: Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
- Cost Management: Monitor food costs and implement measures to minimize waste and control expenses.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to and enforce all health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role in the culinary field.
- Strong expertise in Southern American cuisine
- Demonstrated ability in recipe and process development.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.l
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards.
- Creative and innovative approach to menu planning and presentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
