Description

Freedom Terminal Services has an opening for a Facility Manager at our site in Sulphur Springs, TX. This is a full-time position with benefits. At the current time your work schedule will Monday through Friday with the occasional weekend, based on volume.

Essential Function:

The person in this position directly supervises employees inside a plant, industrial park or customer facility and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. His or her responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems. This person oversees all rail operations, car cleaning and rail maintenance functions. Strong leadership and customer service skills are a must and railroad experience is a plus. This position will be located in the Sulphur Springs, TX,

Job Skills and Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for managing the safety performance, operating practices, and financial productivity of the operation
  • Be responsible for customer interface and monitoring the quality of service in accordance with the terms of any applicable contractual arrangements
  • Working and coordinating with local railroads to receive and release cars accurately and efficiently
  • Lead, train, and develop all employees, ensuring that all employees receive the proper training to do their jobs.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence
  • Participate in customer meetings to build relationships
  • Responsible for terminal financial budgeting and forecasted spending
  • Maintain and develop safety culture among all employees
  • Participate in and promote corporate initiatives, and ensure that employees receive the proper training to perform their jobs
  • Assist in railcar-switching function as required
  • Assume a leadership role in supervising crews, schedules, and personnel
  • Maintain payroll within the targeted budget
  • Conduct efficiency and operating tests according to company practices
  • Conduct incident investigations (derailments, personal injury, etc.) and prepare associated reports
  • Hire new employees to fill vacancies; train new employees in operating practices according to federal regulations and company policies; administer discipline as needed
  • Operate company vehicle in a safe manner and adhere to company’s rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as requested or required.

Requirements

  • Individual must be able to work outside in all condition.
  • Able to squat, kneel, climb ladders, walk, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Individuals must have a valid driver’s license, and a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to work days and weekends, as required. Individuals must be Self-Motivated,
  • Dependable with good computer and communication and team building skills.

Required Experience

  • GED or HS Diploma
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skill with the ability to build rapport with client.
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screening, as well as a background check. Also have random drug tests while employed
  • Proficient PC Skills, Microsoft office suite, mobile tools and web-based applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior railroad leadership experience (preferred, not required)
