What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Analyst position at The General?

Primary Accountabilities
*Design, develop, test, implement, maintain, and update tools to extract, transform and analyze data, automate processes, and provide actionable insights.
*Analyzes and provides information to leadership/management that will affect profit and growth plan execution on an ongoing basis.
*Develops reports, visualizations, analysis, or recommended strategies related to rate reviews, product development, product language, underwriting guidelines, processes, and agent business practices.
*Analyzes information and presents opportunities to improve product or business practices and procedures.
*Collaborate with Product to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.
*Provide training and support to Product team members on newly developed tools and applications.
*Research latest techniques and best practice in data analysis and business application development.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
*Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
*1 years of experience with demonstrated success as a data analyst, product analyst or comparable data analytics related position.
*Proficient in data analytics programming languages such as Python, SQL, R, etc.
*Demonstrated expertise with modern BI toolsets such as Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI, or equivalent.
*Proficient in extracting and leveraging data out of data warehouse, transactional databases, object stores & API based environments.
*Demonstrated experience with various PC software applications and Microsoft Office products.
*Strong problem solving, communications skills as well as an aptitude and drive to learn new technologies and analysis techniques.
*Strong team player; able to work effectively within a team and more broadly with people from a variety of backgrounds and areas across the organization.
* Prior experience in property and casualty insurance is a plus, but not essential.
