Counselor

The Genesis Center exists to be a place of hope, transformation and empowerment for individuals on their journey to recovery from substance use disorders and mental health concerns. The Genesis Center has been bringing people hope in each of our 3 communities for multiple years. Due to growth in our organization, we are seeking to add a new Counselor position providing individual and group counseling to empower a small group of individuals to overcome challenges in their recovery.

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conducts intakes & assessments
• Create ITP and assign LOC
• Conducts individual therapy and group therapy for clients.
• Conducts brief clinical management of individuals in crisis.
• Maintains all daily and periodic clinical reports pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment, and delivery of services in the EMR Software.
• Provides a periodic assessment of client needs, develops treatment plans with the client, summarizes treatment progress, and completes discharge summaries.
• Coordinates services on behalf of clients with supportive agencies and other team members.
• Participates in in-service training, clinical supervision, case staffing, consultations, utilization review meetings, and other job-related meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred in relevant field of studies
• Active Ohio License, LCDCII, LSW, LPC, LISW, LPCC, LICDC

WORK EXPERIENCE:

· Prefer two years of documented experience in a related mental health services field with experience in the substance abuse services.
