Responsibilities:
The Grants and Contracts Specialist I assists in facilitating post-award programmatic and financial activities associated with grants and contracts applied for and awarded to The Geneva Foundation.
Seeking to fill this position in Tacoma, WA or San Antonio, TX.
- Assist Grants and Contracts Manager to coordinate grant start-up activities to include: Statements of Work, Cooperative Research and Development Agreement, Vendor, Independent and Sub Contractor Agreements
- Receive and prepare initial Institutional Review Board (IRB) paperwork for Grants and Contracts Manager review and submission
- Become knowledgeable and ensures compliance with the DoDGAR, OMB and other applicable regulations and policies
- Assist in providing guidance to the Principal Investigator and study team throughout the life of the study
- Review all grant and contract requests, gather necessary documentation to process request for Grants and Contracts Manager review and disposition
- Coordinate procurement and acquisition of equipment, materials, and travel and proffers for grants
- Update and distribute the Grants Administration User’s Guide and Employee Handbook to keep the study team members informed of pertinent policies
- Track and monitor on monthly basis all agreements to include Vendor, Independent and Subcontracts
- Track and monitor Interim and Annual Progress Reports and continuing IRBs
- Assist Grants and Contracts Manager and clients with study closeout procedures and activities
- Maintain current contact list of all personnel associated with Geneva’s grants programs
- Enter and maintain information into The Geneva Foundation’s database related to grant activities
- Maintain all correspondence related to post-award grant activities within the Foundation’s grants management files
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required
- 1 year experience in grant administration preferred
- Non-profit, research, or healthcare experience desired
- Demonstrate competence in oral and written communication
- Must be organized, attentive to detail, and posses a positive, friendly and professional demeanor
- Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner
- Computer skills including at least intermediate level experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software
