As an ACTIVITY COORDINAOR you will assist in providing a program of activities, which will cover spiritual, social, recreational and educational needs of residents as an integral part of their total care.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Plans, organizes and implements activity programs of both entertainment-based and individual activities based on the residents’ individualized needs. Activities are provided for Assisted Living and Independent Living residents.
  • Maintains a balance of recreational activities including physical, social, religious and educational such as but not limited to creative arts and crafts, movies, parties, cooking, games, field trips, and devotional groups. This includes making van reservations and completing room reservation and dietary needs for activities.
  • Ensures that group activities are scheduled for a time that would provide for maximum involvement by interested residents. This will include evenings and weekend activities.
  • Assists in the recruiting of residents to and from activities.
  • Will support administrative staff with new admissions and welcoming new residents such as room door tags, signs, assistance with shadow box, obtaining information within a timely manner.
  • Creates a monthly calendar of activity programs. Communicates and/or displays this for residents, staff, families and the community to observe.
  • Maintains daily attendance records of activity program participants.
  • Attend Executive Resident Advisory Council.
  • Ensures that all Department documentation is compliant with the Department of Health guidelines. Facilitates the use of the computerized medical record system.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School or equivalency Diploma along with two or more years of experience working in the activity program with a dependent adult population
OR
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university, or satisfactory completion of two years of college, with major work in recreation or related field
