The Data Analyst is responsible for building and maintaining data integrations across various platforms for the Graham Company and creating reports and visualizations that make the data accessible and easy to understand. This role will identify, plan, and execute data integration strategies, create visualizations, ensure ongoing monitoring, and maintain, as well as optimize, data accessibility.
The Data Analyst will coordinate with various teams from across the organization to collect, organize and visualize data of all types. This role will also be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and implementation of a master data management strategy within the company across apps, platforms, and datasets in collaboration with senior leadership in IT, Innovation, and the business.
Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Managing analytics projects from start to finish (data integration, analysis, reporting).
- Carrying out requirements gathering, prototyping new systems, and finding new ways of gathering, cleaning, and analyzing data.
- Extract data from multiple sources, integrate disparate data into a common data model, and integrate data into a target database, application, or file using efficient ETL processes.
- Design, develop and maintain data visualization solutions that utilize data from across cloud and on-premise platforms.
- Troubleshoot issues with Qlik and Power BI dashboards.
- Consult with internal teams and external clients to determine their ongoing business needs. Skilled in requirement elicitation to assist non-technical employees in describing user stories that have a tangible impact on and allow for the creation of data and visualizations that align with end user expectations.
- Build and maintain relationships with Graham’s partners and other vendors; serve as liaison to bridge gaps between users and systems.
- Document scope of work in all stages of integration; noting customizations, routing rules, data mapping, etc.
- Work on assignments that are complex in nature in which judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
- Remains up to date on industry trends.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or related field. Data Analytics certification preferred.
- Hands-on experience in Soap/Rest API/web service including hands on experience in building point to point integration and building integration using middleware.
- 2-3 years’ experience with data and database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL (data analysis, data prep, ETL, ELT, etc.) required.
- Strong relational database skills, preferably experience with writing stored procedure, functions, triggers, and data modeling.
- Experience integrating data from structured and unstructured formats: flat files, XML, EDI, JSON, EXCEL
- 2-3 years of experience with Data Visualization tools such as Power BI & Qlik required.
- 1-2 years of experience in, or a working understanding of, Python, Python pandas. Experience in R desirable.
- Broad, state-of-the-art technology awareness that can be applied creatively to business problems and opportunities.
- Expertise in investigating, vetting, and forming recommendations and perspective on outside services and vendor-supplied technologies that may strengthen Graham’s ability to visualize and report on data.
