What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder position at The Hayes Approach?
Our Company manufactures tools for electrical contractors, offering more than 100 products, including cable pullers, conduit benders, and knockout sets. We are based in Upstate Greenville, South Carolina, and the Company is proud of its national connections, as well as its customer service.
We are currently looking for a Welder.
JOB SUMMARY:
Manual welding at an entry level
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Accurate and efficient manual welding of parts and products according to blueprints using fixtures created for each specific item
- Maintain conscious attention to quality and efficiency in output of product
- Keep accurate inventory of parts in baskets
- Focus on perfecting speed and accuracy and increasing knowledge of product line
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES
- Setup work station at beginning of shift by plugging in tools and starting exhaust hoods
- Observe product fixtures during use and inform Weld Shop Supervisor of any noted changes or improvements that would further improve functionality or efficiency
- End work day by submitting appropriate paperwork, cleaning up workstation, unplugging all tools and turning off exhaust hood
SAFETY / HOUSEKEEPING
- Always work in a safe manner and ensure co-workers do the same
- Operate forklift in a safe manner as learned in forklift training course
- Use all safety attire/equipment as needed to complete the job
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area, including floor space, shelving and work stations
- Before leaving each day, ensure all tools are unplugged and all exhaust hoods turned off
- Maintain all tools and equipment in clean, working condition
- Report any defective tools or equipment to the Shop Supervisor for repair or replacement
