The Heritage Community is seeking to hire a Human Resources Assistant!  This position will undertake a variety of HR administrative duties and daily HR functions like keeping track of employees' records, assisting with compliance tracking, onboarding tasks, etc. The incumbent must demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting all deadlines.  The HR Assistant plays an important role in a cohesive HR team and must show a progressive attitude and insight to help serve employees and the company for overall business success!

Schedule:
  • Monday – Friday, part-time. Shift times can be flexible and adjusted, as coordinated upon hire.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests, providing thorough assistance.
  • Assist in ad-hoc HR projects, like collection of employee feedback.
  • Participation in the Caregiver Committee (Employee Engagement).
  • Assist various HR team members with the onboarding process, such as emailing prospective employees their orientation details, activating employees in the internal database, creating and organizing employee e-files, receiving, verifying, and filing required credentials, assuring policy documentation is completed and filed, etc.
  • Assist with compliance tracking, making contact with employees on upcoming renewals and assure documentation is received and filed.
  • Complete employment verification requests, following policy on confidentiality.
  • Write and update job descriptions in accordance with company branding, and all local, state, and federal regulations.

Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills, with the ability to pay attention to details.
  • Excellent in prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines, being able to delegate when appropriate.
  • Strength of character and self-awareness, having integrity and professionalism.
  • Must be able to hold confidences and properly handle confidential information.
  • Aptitude in computer programs and technology such as Google, Microsoft Windows, Adobe, etc.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and management systems.
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of related experience as a HR Assistant, Receptionist, Administrative Assistant, or Secretary required.
  • Completed high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency and fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.
