Patient Care Coordinator
Work hours (ex. 9am-5pm day/night shifts rotating shifts etc)? 8am to 5pm
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival at the medical office
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal utilization of provider schedules
- Collect and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and obtain necessary authorizations
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of medical documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care coordination
- Provide administrative support such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
Requirements:
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of healthcare procedures
- Previous experience in a medical or dental office setting preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in using office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus
