POSITION: Head of Communications
START DATE: February 21, 2022
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Head of Communications reports to the Director and is responsible for promoting Museum programs and events including exhibitions, programs, and performances and communicating with entire Museum community. Responsibilities for this position also include the management of the Museum membership program, management of the Museum website and management of electronic communications with press, members, and Museum email subscribers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain active social media/promotion presence for Museum events, exhibitions, and programs (FB, Twitter, Instagram, list serves).
Maintain and update website and manage online ticketing and registration pages.
Manage and expand membership program, develop member-related programming, engage with members on a regular basis.
Design and produce monthly Museum eblast updates.
Design and produce printed and digital material for performances and as needed for exhibitions and gallery spaces.
Manage internal exhibition files and images and coordinate with outside designers and printers on exhibition catalogues.
Assist with evening and weekend programs as needed, including one Saturday each month.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player, excellent writing/editing skills, experience with Little Green Light membership software program, HTML experience, website administrative experience, experience with Constant Contact and Adobe Pro/Illustrator/InDesign.
Demonstrated graphic design and social media experience.
Undergraduate degree and previous experience with museum or art gallery.
Must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID.
