Job Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of Human Resources as well as general administrative responsibilities. This role will work closely with the Director of Human Resources to support the end -to-end running of HR projects, operations, and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Work to ensure positive employee relations and continuous improvement of Human Resources processes and procedures.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Manage all new hire and onboarding processes, procedures, and training.
- Maintains employee engagement programs.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from all parties, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
- FMLA Administration
- Perform internal audits within the HR department to ensure compliance.
- Meticulous Payroll processing and administration.
- Prepare & Distribute Internal employee communications.
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements of the Role:
- Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times.
