The Legal Aid Society has an opening for a Human Resources (HR) Operations Specialist to work in the Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). The Office of the CHRO provides a full suite of benefits, programs and services to Legal Aid employees and administers employment practices and compliance. The office of the CHRO oversees all HR departments including Talent Acquisition, Benefits/Compensation, Learning & Development, Employee Relations, and drives HR strategy and change in partnership with Legal Aid stakeholders. The HR Operations Specialist reports to and assists the Chief HR Officer in updating HR communication tools, facilitating administrative support, and managing special projects as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Communications
Coordinate and support the standardization of employee and supervisor facing communication tools from HR departments and oversee the HR SharePoint site
Ensure routine employee communications are tracked and sent from the HR office, i.e., holiday announcements
As needed, support the HR leadership team in creating new or updating current communication tools within HR
Administer routine HR communication updates and provide feedback loops that is inclusive of key LAS stakeholders such as unions, caucuses, DEI affinity groups, managers, leaders, etc.
Operations Support
Coordinate and support the HR leadership in developing, creating, and updating HR policies, procedures, forms, and other operational tools
Facilitate efficient purchasing procedures and vendor relationship on behalf of the CHRO
Schedule and coordinate routine meetings for HR-wide functions, i.e., quarterly HR community meetings
Routinely review and update the HR Annual Calendar to ensure upcoming projects and deadlines are on track
Coordinate the weekly HR Leads meeting, gathering agenda items, taking notes, providing follow up
Facilitate coordination of HR to other operational units such as IT, Facilities, communications, strategic initiatives, and other stakeholders
Plan events for the HR community
Special Projects
Create forms and templates that supports standardization of routine HR processes
Assist as needed in operational projects such as facility moves, equipment upgrades, internal HR initiatives
Coordinate routine reports across the HR departments, assist HR Leads and HRIS in facilitating as needed
