We are looking for a Senior Digital Advertising Strategist to join our team. This position reports to the Digital Director, will work closely with the entire Digital Team and involves the execution of digital advertising services for an array of clients, from nonprofits to corporations to issue advocacy organizations. Our team is responsible for elevating and growing brands, organizations and campaigns; driving revenue; telling compelling stories via online mediums, acquiring customers and members; converting donors, and winning issue advocacy battles. 

Ideal candidates have experience being part of a digital team as well as analytical, communication and writing skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

This position is located in Washington, DC, and we require this employee to come into our Dupont Circle office Monday through Thursday (option to work remote on Friday). TMG can offer relocation assistance/funding if you are currently out of state and need to relocate. 

Some travel required for this position; including international travel.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Advanced knowledge of common digital platforms including, but not limited to, Meta, Google Ads, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, StackAdapt, MIQ, etc.;
  • Development and execution of digital media plans to meet client goals, including direct response and persuasion advertising campaigns. Specific tasks to be performed include:
    • Copywriting
    • Campaign & ad group building
    • Keyword and automated bidding strategies
    • Regular optimization
    • Measuring, analyzing, and reporting on campaign performance to uncover actionable insights that will increase efficiency and performance of digital marketing efforts on behalf of our clients
  • Ability to independently work on and juggle multiple campaigns for clients from top to bottom, with daily tasks including but not limited to building ads, managing billing, reporting, identifying new technologies, etc. 
  • Manage ROAS/ROI-driven campaigns on ecommerce platforms as necessary. Outreach and collaboration with print and digital vendors to deliver holistic campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including TMG’s linear buying firm, Amplify, and our legal media company, Signal, to build and execute fully integrated media plans that are aligned with campaign goals and ensure strategic use of all resources.
  • Work proactively with the Analytics Director to traffic audiences and execute data requests; 
  • Creative design development: Initiate and work both internally and externally with designers and developers to produce online and print ad collateral, social media and website assets.
  • Be proactive about achieving—and being accountable to—client goals. 
  • Communicate with clients about success and challenges in the campaigns you’re running and/or assisting with.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of hands-on in-house experience in a paid media role within a campaign, advocacy or consulting performance-driven context. 
  • Ability to set up ads in platforms like Google Ads, Meta Business Manager, Programmatic DSPs (StackAdapt, MiQ, etc.); including implementing and QAing tags for proper measurement with ad partners. 
  • Understanding of digital metrics with a proven track record of building approaches across a broad mix of clients backed by data. 
  • Experience developing and managing paid digital ad budgets (calculating client fees, reconciliation, etc.). 
  • Knowledge of different CRMs to run acquisition campaigns into (BSD, Hubspot, Action Network, NationBuilder, etc.) (preferred)
  • Understanding of conversion events, pixels and analytics platforms like Google Analytics 4; additional experience with Google Tag Manager preferred, but not required.
  • Expertise with Microsoft and Google Doc products; most importantly a proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.

  • Self-starter with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively to meet internal and external deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to work with clients across a variety of sectors including technology, consumer, advocacy, political, and legal marketing.
  • Impeccable attention to detail with the ability to meticulously Q/A creative, ad builds, and reports.
  • A creative thinker with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a sense of humor and a positive attitude.
  • Willingness and appetite to travel internationally several times a year

  • Salary range: $95,000 - $115,000 USD, plus a discretionary bonus;
