Position Summary
CBKC seeks an experienced and highly skilled Comptroller to support all areas of the organization by managing and executing the day to day general accounting processes and functions for CBKC. The organization’s Comptroller ensures the integrity and accuracy of all accounting and financial information recorded, reported, and retained on behalf of the organization. The position reports to the CFO and also oversees the accounting and financial reporting of CBKC’s multiple subsidiaries.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the successful development, implementation, and day to day execution of all financial and accounting processes, including:
- General ledger accounting, reporting, reconciliation and analysis.
- Financial statement preparation, consolidation, and analysis.
- Accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations.
- Support the CFO in the development and implementation of financial plans and budgets.
- Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting to support operational requirements.
- Coordinate the annual audits for CBKC and its subsidiaries by working closely with external auditors.
- Ensure that CBKC leadership is supported with accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Ensure that monthly and quarterly financial reports are submitted and reviewed internally prior to submission to board committees.
- Ensure that all financial and accounting functions are developed and performed according to the highest professional standards and in clear compliance with general accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Remain current on GAAP accounting, reporting and control best practices, HIPAA, and state and federal law regarding nonprofit financial operations.
- Support CBKC’s implementation of its strategic plan.
Professional Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Five years or more of related experience in an enterprise of similar budget and complexity.
- CPA preferred.
- Experience in nonprofit accounting preferred, including fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting.
- Familiarity with and/or ability to learn multiple and accounting software platforms.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000. Benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; short-term and long-term disability; and a 401k retirement plan. CBKC provides support for continuing education and licensure coursework as needed.
