Responsibilities:

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between SENS-UAW, Local 7902 and the University.


  • Provide undergraduate and graduate students individual instruction in various softwares, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, AfterEffects, AutoCAD, Rhino, V-Ray, Revit, Sketch, Blender, etc.
  • Work with students of varying skill levels-from demonstrating the basics to assisting with complex problems.
  • Create a professional and welcoming environment by modeling respect for students’ diverse cultures, language skills, and experiences.
  • Complete administrative tasks, such as writing brief descriptions of each session and emailing a brief summary of daily attendance during remote tutoring period.
  • Other opportunities include leading in-class workshops and/or specialized ULC workshops.
  • Tutoring will be hybrid, with some students requesting in-person sessions.

Hourly Rate: 20.98
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Tutors must have a high level of experience in the Adobe CC and be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at The New School.
  • Prior tutoring or teaching experience is preferred.
  • Please send at least one faculty recommendation indicating your proficiency with specific software programs to learningcenter@newschool.edu.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
  • Able to commit to 8 (or more) tutoring hours per week
  • Willingness to tutor in person 25-50% of the time
  • Federal Work Study preferred
  • Ability to adhere to University COVID-19 Policy and requirements.
