The Court Supervisor will provide training, supervision, and oversight for two of the Court Representative staff. As a team, the Court Supervisor and Court Representatives will act as liaison between the Alternative to Incarceration (ATI) program and their assigned court(s) within the five boroughs. The Court Supervisor must have a thorough understanding of what an ATI program is and of the Supreme and Criminal Court Systems. The Court Supervisor will be responsible for working with clients and their families to explain the program, obtain information and assess family support and needs, and complete intake with them for the program. The Court Supervisor position requires the ability to effectively utilize the knowledge of program and partner services while representing the program in Court. The Court Supervisor must be prepared to engage court stakeholders about the ATI program and maintain strong working relationships.


Salary Range: $66,300 - $69,800/year

The Court Supervisor position requires the ability to effectively utilize the knowledge of program and partner services while representing the program in Court. Position Description: (
Summarize the essential functions of the job.)

  • Provides training, supervision, and oversight to two ATI Court Representatives
  • Engages potential ATI participants and their families into the ATI program
  • Completes program intake with client and families
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with judges, legal guardians, assistant corporation counsel, defense attorneys, probation, and other Court partners
  • Meets with participants and services staff to discuss program performance
  • Collects screening information on intake and re-arrest cases, monitor warrants, and track cases to program case closure
  • Cultivates relationships with all relevant court personnel and/or other stakeholders
  • Provides the Case Manager with all required participant and case information, including court-imposed conditions, special circumstances, contacts and next court date and part information, to then initiate a case management file for the released participant.
  • Demonstrates interest in and sensitivity to issues facing young people in criminal justice system and their families
  • Demonstrates ability to gather and evaluate accuracy of information under often less than ideal circumstances and formulate persuasive arguments for eligible defendants to be placed in programs
  • Enters intakes, insurance, and other pertinent information into agency database system EVOLV
  • Timely documentation and report in all entry systems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President of ATI program

  • Regular and punctual time and attendance, and adherence to The Foundling’s and your department’s specific time and attendance policies and protocol.
  • Implement the Coaching and Mentoring model with Supervisees

  • Adherence to The Foundling’s employee policies, Code of Conduct and applicable rules, laws, regulations or bargaining agreements.
  • Appropriate engagement with support departments to ensure appropriate and timely hiring, performance management, investigation, discipline, suspension, and restructuring decisions concerning direct reports.
  • Any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned.

Salary Range: $66,300 - $69,800/year

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required
  • Bilingual applicants (fluency in Spanish/English or other languages) encouraged to apply.

Preferred Experience:

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Data entry systems.
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with Sr. Court Representative and program staff
  • Familiarity with Alternative to Detention (ATD), Alternative to Incarceration (ATI) or other advocacy program models.


Preferred Knowledge:

  • Juvenile Justice
  • Alternative to Incarceration programs

Supreme and Criminal Court systems

  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety.
