A little about the company youd be working with:
Alright, lets get right to the point. We realize this might be the 972nd job post that youve read in the last month and if we are all honest with each other, they all basically say the same thing. So we are going to tell you why were a little bit different: we believe in helping you become the best version of yourself. Not your mothers desired best version of you. Not your high school guidance counselors projected picture of everyones best version. We believe in you and want to help you achieve your career goals (and we will even support you in your personal goals).
Yes, we have all of the other things: Compensation is great (50% above industry average), benefits are great (company sponsored health, dental, vision, 401k with match, paid holidays, paid sick leave) and we definitely offer opportunities to grow with the company.
But you can get that almost anywhere.
Youre looking for something special. Youre looking to wake up every day with a purpose. You want to feel alive. You want to be surrounded by co-workers that support each other in a drama-free environment. You want to go home to your family and not bring your work with you.
We feel you. Come on board. The Next Street is anything but typical. We want to interview you; we want to get to know you and most importantly we want you to get to know us. We are a company that cares. We donate our services to local charities. We also have a specially designated paid community day you get paid to donate your time to your favorite cause. We want to make the world a better place. Are you with us?
A little about the job:
Ok, so you hear driving instructor, and you imagine a crusty old dude in khaki shorts, dad-style New Balances tied too tight and a tee shirt with the name of a place on it in some strange font. Thats not our driving instructors.
Our driving instructors connect with our students. We acknowledge that being a teenager these days is hard and often it sucks. We dont just help them learn how to drive, we help them understand that a license means freedom and responsibility and their first step into adulthood, and we help them understand what that entails. You arent just sitting in a car screaming at kids that dont listen. Youre helping someone that doesnt know how to do a thing, a thing they need to know how to do in order to succeed in life and teaching them how to do that thing.
Theres no better feeling than watching a student click. Youll help a young adult that needs a license to get to their job or get to school or help the family with errands. Theyll struggle to back into the parking space. And then theyll struggle again. And maybe one more time. But then. Click. They got it. The smile that comes across their face will give you a jolt of joy. And then youll see their confidence come out. Now youll follow that student all the way down their path to getting their license and that joy will follow you too. Remember the day you got your drivers license? The nerves, the fear and then the feeling when you first held that piece of plastic? Imagine feeling that 3-5x per day. Thats what its like to be a driving instructor at The Next Street.
Whats in it for you?
We provide all of the necessary paid training to prepare you to teach new drivers the fundamentals of safe driving. If you are a safe and solid driver, we will train you to be a great instructor.
Our staff is a diverse community of people, all connected by our belief in 3 core values: kindness, positivity, and curiosity.
No member of our staff is a cog in a wheel. We are all (from the CEO to the customer service team to the managers to the instructors and everywhere in between) a part of something bigger than ourselves and we work together to serve that greater good.
Empathy. Humanity. Compassion. We understand each other and understand that life can come on hard and fast. We listen to you and connect with you as a human being. We want you to have work-life balance and we work together with you to understand your situation and what you want to get out of your career bucket.
Appreciation and Gratitude. Youll hear thank you over and over. Youll get the support you need to be successful and then youll be praised for your success.
All sounds too good to be true, right? Its real. We promise. Come on board and let us show you how real it is. See you at the interview.
