Job Title: Data Analytics Specialist Department: Health System Shared Services | Financial Analytics Job Description The Data Analytics Specialist participates in data analysis and research projects to solve problems and provide actionable insights for organizational decision-making in the areas including but are not limited to strategic planning, performance evaluation, human resources, financial management, operations management, supply chain, marketing, or process improvement. The Specialist functions as member of a data analytics team to help with the design of large, complex and key data analytics programs and projects to support and enhance the mission and strategic objectives of the OSU Wexner Medical Center; support the initiation, planning, execution and closing phases of projects involving the integration of multiple data sources, utilization of multiple systems, and collaborative efforts across business unit functions. The Data Analytics Specialists will typically work with pre-programmed software and warehoused data and will identify, collect and integrate data assets from other sources as needed to address organizational needs and priorities. The position will work on analytics projects of various scopes and complexity, usually relating to data analysis and research problems. Position develops data analytics products and provides data services according to established policies, procedures, and appropriate methodologies for analysis of data. Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Social Science, Library Science, Business, Economic, Computer Science, Engineering, and Marketing) or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 1 year experience and/or training in database design and implementation, large data analytics projects, or advanced statistical analysis projects are strongly preferred. Undergraduate courses or training in database management or MIS required. Experience and knowledge of database programming languages such as SAS or SQL strongly preferred. Experience and training in using advanced functions of MS Excel. Experience using relevant business intelligence and statistical analysis software packages required.
