Job Title: Wellness Coordinator Department: Student Life | Student Wellness Center The wellness coordinator develops and implements evidence-based and theory-driven wellness programs designed to support the success of Ohio State students, staff and faculty; coordinates faculty and staff outreach initiatives of the Student Wellness Center to enhance the culture of care at Ohio State; develops and implements digitally accessible programs and trainings based on campus needs; participates in university and community committees, supports administrative operations of the center by keeping detailed reports, tracking metrics and assists in development of assessments associated with programming and online trainings. Implementation and delivery of outreach and prevention programs/presentations through best practices and campus needs. Implement holistic well-being, healthy relationships, sexual health and violence prevention programs, utilizing best practices, for undergraduate, graduate and professional student populations. Collaborate, develop, and present educational sessions, workshop trainings and events on the principles of health promotion, healthy lifestyle choices, sexual health, stress and time management, mental wellness, and risk reduction and prevention activities. Coordinate curricular and co-curricular campus presentations. Distribute wellness information (i.e. goals, activities) for the purpose of relaying information and promoting the program. Aid in developing and maintaining website and social media content to disseminate health information to OSU students. Plan and/or provide oversight to relevant campus awareness campaigns, classroom/student organization/resident hall presentations. Contribute to various campus health initiatives, special events and related programming. Actively participate in marketing of wellness services, programs, and events. Develop and implement collaborative and comprehensive programming with key partners of the Student Life Student Wellness Center. Coordinate sexual health and condom club program. Develop, coordinate, teach, and evaluate a violence prevention/bystander intervention program. Expand consent education and sexual violence prevention education programming. Assist staff in building and maintaining collaborative relationships to support holistic prevention and education efforts on and off campus. Develop a healthy relationship initiative that includes outreach, social norming, education, and assessment strategies. Coordinate programming with various campus constituencies to effectively reach all students and engage targeted populations in education and awareness activities (Admissions, Graduate Schools, First Year Success Series, Second Year Transformational Experience Program (STEP), Housing and Residence Education, Sorority and Fraternity Life, off-campus housing and student leaders). Evaluation and assessment of campus needs and program efficacy. Identify and evaluate learning outcomes for each educational program. Analyze related data from various surveys and resources. Identify the needs of institution through an environmental assessment, focus groups, and comparison to best practices. Analyze surveys that provide baseline data, identify program need and priorities, evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services, and track trends in student health status. Contribute to the Student Life Student Wellness Center strategic planning. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge: Demonstrated experience with cultural humility and social justice practice. Demonstrated knowledge of health promotion, behavior change, and population-based theories and models. Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-informed health promotion programs/initiatives. Demonstrated knowledge of environmental management strategies/socio-ecological model. Demonstrate: Principles of primary prevention work in college health promotion and education. Prevention research and best practices related to the college campus setting. Collaboration with and incorporation of underrepresented and historically. marginalized diverse populations into health promotion processes. Knowledge of specific disease and lifestyle related topics such as bystander intervention, healthy relationships, gender-based violence, sexual and interpersonal violence. Proficiency in: Written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills Handling multiple projects simultaneously, managing time efficiently, and prioritizing tasks. Analyzing health-related professional literature relevant to college students and assessing its applicability and utility for effectiveness on a particular campus. Additional Information: Career Roadmap designation: Function-Social and Behavioral Health Sub Function-Wellness Career Level- Manager Career Band- M1 Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education/promotion, or related field. Degrees in other fields (higher education, counseling, social work) may be considered with evidence of sufficient university-level coursework, practical work experience, and/or professional continuing education in the areas listed above. Required Qualifications: A minimum of 3 years related health promotion work experience, preferably in a higher education environment; graduate assistantship, internship, practicum work may count toward experience. Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education/promotion, or related field. Degrees in other fields (higher education, counseling, social work) may be considered with evidence of sufficient university-level coursework, practical work experience, and/or professional continuing education in the areas listed above.
