Due to Covid-19 guidelines, our "Program Without Walls" normally 100% community based is now partially community based in a facility setting. We are starting to get back into the community volunteering and helping others when we can do so safely.

The Otero Corporation is seeking Direct Support Professionals for our Day Program to provide the direct provision of services and support to people with intellectual / developmental disabilities in its "Program Without Walls".

Someone who views themselves as a self-starter with excellent self-direction and planning skills would be a great asset to our already existing strong team. Come share your knowledge, skills, and abilities with us.

We are seeking those who can truly embrace a diverse population of folks, working in our day program, "Program Without Walls". We are only seeking candidates who have a real passion for making a difference in the lives of others. The best candidate will have high energy and be very flexible!

The Otero Corporation will provide paid staff training and background checks. Must have a good driving record and clean background check. Great Benefit package for FTE's. Starting pay $17.00 per hour. Monday thru Friday, approximately 8am to 4pm. NO NIGHTS OR WEEKENDS!

Duties:

  • Reading, writing, and carrying out directions
  • Charting or taking notes for others to review
  • Providing companionship and supportive listening
  • Reporting changes in the health or status of the individual
  • Feeding individuals
  • Maintaining individual's health equipment
  • Responding to emergency situations
  • Administering medication
  • Transporting individual to appointments
  • Facilitating community and recreational outings, including transport
  • Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities

Job Type: Full-time
