What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Time Client Services Specialist/Receptionist position at The Pony Express Veterinary Hospital?
The Pony Express Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time Client Services Specialist/Receptionist. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Excellent computer skills, including the ability to learn the hospital’s schedule and to schedule appointments within practice guidelines; ability to answer a multi-line phone and route calls appropriately if needed; invoice clients efficiently and accurately; collect payments via cash, credit card, and checks; communicate with clients via our mobile app, phone, and emails.
- Make a positive impression on our clients by being warm yet professional.
- Communicate with the veterinarians and all other staff members to maintain smooth work flow.
- Willingness to work with others, collaborating and compromising where necessary; promptly share relevant information with others.
- Ability to learn and retain pertinent information, along with the ability to speak knowledgeably on various veterinary services, medications, procedures, and protocols.
- Able and willing to perform tasks and duties without supervision as appropriate.
- Office maintenance including, but not limited to, keeping a clean, organized, and clutter-free work area and clinic.
Excellent attention to detail is required. Candidates must exhibit honesty, discretion, and sound judgment. The ideal applicant will have a high tolerance for stress with the ability to maintain composure and friendly demeanor during stressful events. A strong customer service background in veterinary medicine or human medicine is desired, as is familiarity with electronic medical records/practice management software.
This position is Monday-Friday; schedule includes evening hours. Saturday shifts may be required to cover for vacations/illness/special projects/clinic needs. We offer competitive pay and excellent benefits, as well as a strong culture of teamwork and camaraderie.
