Position Responsibilities:
- Maintains completed and closed medical records securely.
- Ensuring HIPAA compliant transmission of requested medical record information.
- Analyze, and close charts as residents are discharged.
- Complete closed chart audits monthly and compile monthly reports on data.
- Oversees discharge summary completion process and completes weekly and month tracking on this process.
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with site policies and procedures, including HIPPA, state/federal regulations.
Competencies:
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Excellent typing/data entry skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
- Knowledge of medical transcription is preferred.
- Proficiency in using an Electronic Medical Record is required.
- Must be detail oriented and have the ability to function independently.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at one time and the ability to be flexible, to adjust priorities as needed throughout the day or projects.

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience preferably with release of information, medical records, or other related experience in a healthcare environment.
Hours:
- Monday -Friday, 40 hours per week
