The Technical Inspector Wheel conducts technical inspections, verifies repairs, and performs maintenance on tactical wheeled vehicles, material handling equipment, and power generation equipment. They diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and cooling system components, adhering to established procedures and publications. This role includes conducting diagnostic tests, preparing and maintaining logs and records, participating in the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and QA Program, and mentoring colleagues. The position requires compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards while supporting internal and external customers. Flexibility in assisting in various maintenance work areas and adherence to company rules, policies, and procedures are essential.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED of a Technical Inspector Wheel :
· Technical Proficiency: Five (5) years of verifiable experience in inspection, repair, and maintenance on tactical wheeled vehicles and equipment. Successful completion of written tests, hands-on inspections, interviews, and a trial period. Knowledgeable in the operation of STAMIS (GCSS-A) programs and other automation systems.
· Communication: Read, write, and speak fluent English. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
· Technical Manuals: Familiarity with and ability to use Technical Manuals and complex schematic diagrams.
· Reporting and Documentation: Create detailed reports for tracking received materials, maintain records, provide traceability of documentation, submit required reports and action requests.
· Experience in writing performance evaluation comments and reports in a control or assignment directive role.
_ REQUIREMENTS of a Technical Inspector Wheel:_
· Physical Requirements: Capable of meeting physical workload requirements; physical capability includes lifting at least fifty (50) pounds unassisted, stooping, bending, climbing, and normal color vision compliance as per DA PAM 611-21.
· Computer Proficiency: Ability to use personal computers with database and spreadsheet software, accurately input data, and work in an automated supply environment. Fluent and comfortable with the MS Office Suite. Competence in utilizing office equipment.
· Computer System Access: Completion of required training and maintenance of access to a Government Computer System NIPR.
· GCSS-Army Experience: Two years of verifiable experience using the GCSS-Army system.
· Military Common Access Card: Capability to receive and maintain CAC card.
· Education: High school diploma or GED (equivalent).
· Driver's License and Equipment Operation: Possession of a Civilian Driver’s License and capability to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) like forklifts, all-terrain vehicles, or trucks up to 5 tons.
· Compliance and Safety: Comply with Company rules, policies, procedures, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Account for and properly care for Government Furnished Equipment and Contractor Furnished Equipment.
· Working Conditions and Environmental Adaptability: Assignment location might be remote and uncomfortable, involving long hours and exposure to weather and hazardous conditions. Ability to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures, low visibility, rain, blowing sands, and dust; using proper techniques and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
· Work Hours: Willingness to work uncommon hours, extended shifts, capable of working more than 40 hours a week, nights, weekends, and holidays if required.
· Stress Tolerance: Capability to work under stress, meet tight deadlines, and flexible with varying duty assignments based on project requirements. Ability to work efficiently in a demanding, multi-tasking environment.
