Overview
The Roots Farm Market general manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations. The GM provides leadership, vision, direction, goals, and guides and encourages the team towards success. The GM communicates and ensures that allRFM policies, procedures, and protocols are followed. The GM is the said “leader of the ship” that steers the company towards long-term success, stability, and positive rapport within the community. Qualifications
Education
Degree: High School diploma, Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
Experience: At least 3 years management/ leadership experience preferably in a farm/retail/grocery environment but not required At least 5 years in a retail environment Previous experience with financial management

Job Duties
Business Operations Drive store sales and increase profitability Manage operational costs Improve administrative processes Engage with vendors Research new products, makers, farmers, etc. to keep store filled with the basic local products
Team Leadership, HR, and Management Team leader; motivate and monitor entire staff
Model excellent behavior, professionalism, and positivity Create cohesive and functional monthly schedule Compile and submit payroll hours bi-weekly Hire, Train, and Fire employees Maintain employee handbook; update as needed Assist in creating a positive work culture Mentor and educate staff
Inventory Management Enter all invoices into Quickbooks Create barcodes for new products Update price signage Inventory Management: check-in deliveries, enter into POS with updated pricing, taxes, quantity, track items, assess sales vs. ordering Order from specific distributors, producers, and farmers on a weekly basis
Store Operations Accountability for day-to-day store operations and ensures a smooth and organized operation Oversee opening and closing procedures Maintain cleanliness, efficiency, and professional appearance of front of house Ensures the store is in compliance with all applicable laws, licenses, permits, and health & safety regulations Works with owners to monitor overall store conditions to meet safety needs, improve efficiencies, and improve short & long term infrastructure needs. Assists fellow workers with ordering, receiving, stocking as needed Ensures that the customer comes first: create a positive experience for each and every customer and relay this goal to staff Develop and update systems to improve customer experience Improve store systems Develop and update systems to improve customer experience

Schedule 40 hour work week with additional hours necessary during peak season, staff shortages, and unpredictable circumstances Flexible scheduling; weekends, days/evenings, holidays as necessary

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
