About this opportunity:
The Housing Manager is responsible for the administration and delivery of residential support services for year-round emergency shelter for persons experiencing homelessness. The Housing Manager is chiefly responsible for safe, secure, sanitary shelter facilities in conjunction with the Facilities and Property Manager. The Manager supervises monitors, case worker, food service manager, and directs all activities of the shelter program to ensure efficient operation which includes the provision of housing. The Housing Manager meets the reasonable material needs of residents and guests, ensuring their compliance with The Salvation Army policy and procedures. The work of the Housing Manager directly impacts the quality of life for residents and guests.
Key responsibilities:
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to manage several tasks at the same time and work well under pressure. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to think, concentrate and learn. Ability to perform mathematical calculations. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.). Work is performed in a shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Key responsibilities:
- Prepares staff, facilities, and environment for daily and nightly operation of the year-round shelter program. Ensures staff and guests adhere to year-round shelter policies and procedures.
- Supervises monitors, caseworker, and directs all activities of the shelter program which ensure safe, clean housing for guests and minimal emergency casework. Ensures all activities are conducted according to established Salvation Army policy.
- Supervises and participates in the selection and purchasing of supplies; monitors expenditures ensuring compliance with budget constraints.
- Delivers trauma-informed, client-centered service, using de-escalation methods to ensure the emotional and physical safety of residents and staff.
- High school diploma or G.E.D; AND
- Two years’ experience working in a social or public service environment with experience assisting the public,; OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- May require Valid State Driver's License
