Position Summary
The Salvation Army Midland Division Corps located in Joplin, Missouri, is looking for a Receptionist! This position assists the Corps Officers, Business Administrator and ESS Case Worker in routine administrative and case work duties. Position is expected to comply with and meet The Salvation Army, Federal, State and Local policies and standards. This position is expected to advance and support the Mission of The Salvation Army.
This is a part-time position that pays $13.79 per hour with 25 hours per week.

Essential Functions:
- Perform Corps clerical and receptionist functions (e.g. prepare routine correspondence, answer phones, direct calls, take messages, type and mail letters, greet walk-in visitors, etc.).
- Prepare and mail thank you letters to donors.
- Maintain current mailing lists for various groups and activities.
- Assist Business Administrator in opening and preparing all receipts/invoices/statements, and assist in submitting them to the regional accounting center for processing.
- Assist in counting weekly income (church deposit and normal deposit) and processing it making it ready for the bank.
- Keep the reception office and the copier/work room neat and in order.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of office supplies, submitting a purchase order when re-stocking is necessary. Assist the family store in obtaining needed office supplies.
- Assist in processing, assigning to various departments and tracking community service, Experience Works, and light duty workers.
- Assist with processing volunteer applications. Maintain database of volunteers.
- Schedule appointments and assist ESS Case Worker with writing vouchers, entering data and filing daily routine client assistance paperwork.

Education and Experience
- High School diploma with one year work related (business/finance/accounting/ management and/or office management) experience.
- Combination of training and experience will be considered.
- Must have experience with computer spreadsheet software and word processing applications. Good communication & organizational skills required.
- Must be capable of constructing and routing correspondence with little supervision, and answering routine questions regarding budget and personnel procedures.
- Must be a team player, a self-starter, able to handle several projects at the same time and perform well with minimum supervision.
- Must demonstrate ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment. Requires a high level of confidentiality.
Physical Requirements
- Must be capable of performing the above essential duties in an office environment to include: using a computer, answering phones, etc.
- Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.
