Job Objective:
The receptionist is the primary contact for all people coming to the Social Services Center. This position requires the ability to multi-task as the person will be answering phones, greeting visitors, computer data entry, and pulling files within a short time frame.
Essential Functions:
- Answer incoming calls/questions and direct callers to appropriate parties;
- Develop knowledge base of SA program services and requirements and answer related questions;
- Pull program files(intakes and commodity cards) and provide proper forms for individuals seeking assistance;
- Be familiar and follow procedures required for assisting clients seeking services;
- Timely and accurate data entry for: Service Point and Time and Chaos;
- Utilize MS Outlook email as one way of communicating with staff;
- Coordinate donations received at front desk as well as schedule pickup times for donations via phone calls;
- Develop a working knowledge of other local resources and make appropriate referrals when applicable;
- Maintain Literature racks in hallway:
- Lock filing cabinets at end of day
- Follow building close up procedure
- Other duties as needed to meet the Salvation Army mission in the Fox Cities
Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.
Education: Post high school education preferred
Experience: Previous work in a comparable field helpful
Certifications: None required
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Effectively operate a computer and various Microsoft applications
- Good interpersonal skills
- Work with other staff as part of a team and assist in other areas
- Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnel.

Travel: Minimal, if any travel required it would be local only. Travel time and mileage reimbursement costs will apply if travel is required.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in typical office environment. This is a part time position with hours typically from 8am-4pm. While it would be a rare circumstance, weekend and evening hours may be required if ever needed.
