Job Duties
Works under supervision of VP, Controller
Maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
Manages accounting tasks related to monthly close including:
Reviewing expense coding for corporate credit card transactions and syncing to accounting system (NetSuite)
Reviewing and recording banking activity
Recording revenue related to live theater, consumer and corporate training lines of business
Reviews project margins with corporate revenue project managers
Provides monthly analysis of budget vs actual variances to various department heads, controller and CFO
Works with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit including the preparation of all supporting account reconciliations
Assists in various forms of governmental compliance by filing all tax and informational returns with the various governing bodies including sales tax returns and HST returns as well as renewing liquor licenses and other legal documents
Maintains Corporate Credit Card program and trains staff on company credit card reporting tool (Ramp)
Performs Ad Hoc reporting analysis as required by Controller, CFO or department heads
Ability to communicate financial results department heads and business leaders using clear, easy to understand language
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required
3 year of relevant accounting experience
Possesses knowledge of accounting principles, and excellent verbal and written skills
Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and organize efficiently
Experience with NetSuite ERP and/or Salesforce CRM preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
