Reservations Agent

SUMMARY

Take reservations for overnight rooms and spa appointments as well as day spa reservations for individuals

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides information on the layout of the Inn and spa
• Provides guest service
• Answers the phone
• Follows forecasted outline for selling by weighing the value of each request before accepting or refusing it
• Knows the selling status and rates of all package plans
• Understands the computer systems and procedures for operating the telephone
• Obtains and enters guest information
• Processes all reservations, changes, and cancellations
• Follows the hotel's policy on guaranteed no show, and cancellation of reservations
• Comments all reservations with special occasions, situations, etc
• Responds to inquiries and makes reservations as needed
• Adheres to all of the safety procedures
• Follows all policies and company standards and procedures
• Performs various assignments as directed by the department Supervisor or Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to standard.

• Ability to type
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to answer phone to standard

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED

Language Skills - ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals; must be able to communicate effectively with guests and fellow associates

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write and speak English fluently

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to do basic math and use a calculator

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to sit for 6-8 hours at a time

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The environment of the reservation's office is professional, and customer service driven. The environment is one large room with up to eight reservationists answering phones and booking reservations.

Must be flexible regarding scheduling as it is based on business demands
