The Sprucery Garden Center (“the Company”) located in Franktown, CO is searching for a Garden Center Operations Manager. The Company is one of Colorado’s largest tree nurseries and garden centers. Core Responsibilities
The Garden Center Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth daily operation of the retail and wholesale customer garden center operation along with management of the applicable staff within this area of responsibility.
This position will focus on expanding retail sales growth, maintaining plant material products, managing inventory control, ensuring excellent customer service, maximizing staff productivity, maintaining the cleanliness of the property, collaborating with shipping and receiving, and displaying leadership while working in a team environment.
In this role you will:
- Operate the Garden Center through the lens of the customer to expand the retail and wholesale businesses.
- Understand customer needs and trends within the retail and wholesale markets.
- Create a retail customer experience – maintaining inventory, merchandising, conducting sales promotions, supporting customer events, and managing warranties.
- Serve wholesale customers with excellence and speed – ensuring that we can fulfill their orders in an accurate and timely fashion, becoming their trusted partner of choice.
- Build relationships with customers and foster this behavior within the team.
- Serve as a role model for the team – for development, success, and accountability.
- Achieve financial objectives by increasing sales, growing the customer base, managing inventory, operating safely, and initiating corrective actions.
- Develop and manage plant propagation for both annuals and perennials.
- Hire and build the Garden Center Team with part-time and full-time staff with the complimentary skills needed to run the operation.
- Manage the staffing schedules to support customers, address the needs of the garden center, and provide employee training.
- Help build out and make live the core values of The Company.
- Support the branding, marketing, social media, and event planning efforts.
- Create The Company as the garden center of choice within a 20-mile radius for both retail and wholesale customers.

Compensation
- Salary role up to an $80,000 base with variable compensation depending on experience
