Duties and Responsibilities

This advertisement is for temporary Other Personnel Services (OPS) opportunities to be filled within the FLHSMV and is a grant funded position by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) under the Florida Department of Transportation State Safety Office.


The member will provide their expertise in carrying out the goals and objectives of the grant to improve the traffic data and systems. The member will be responsible for scheduling and preparing Crash and Uniform Traffic Citation presentation materials, agendas, creating interface performance metrics, tabulating and analyzing results, documenting business rules and updating manuals as needed. This position will also serve as a contact and distributor of reports, and as a data collection liaison. The incumbent will assist with presentations and documentation requirements to demonstrate minimum performance standards are met per the conditions of the grant.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical experience with the ability to gather, disseminate, and analyze statistical data.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to manage a project.
  • Ability to create reports and conduct presentations.
  • Ability to document meeting minutes, business rules, and updating manuals as needed.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Skill in providing customer service to internal and external customers (e.g. law enforcement agencies and software vendors).

General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skills assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
  • The process for selecting applicant(s) for this position could take up to six months. Following the six-month period, a new application must be submitted to an open advertisement to be considered for that vacancy.
  • OPS employees at FLHSMV are paid biweekly. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes
