OPS Government Operations Consultant I (IT COORDINATOR) 37971129

  • Organization: Division of Recreation and Parks (DRP), Director’s Office.
  • Program Description: This position consults with field staff and Division management to foster effective needs assessment, implementation, and coordination of PC desktop purchasing, inventory tracking, desktop annual budget and Cherwell ticketing for the Division of Recreation and Parks (DRP).
  • This position will schedule up to 40 hours per week.

Pay:

$18 - $20 per hour (commensurate with experience)


Your Specific Responsibilities:

Administers, tracks and updates the DRP employee PC property refresh list. Maintains the PC Budget tracking and purchasing inventory. Produces reports and other materials for the Division leadership team for desktop equipment needs. Meets with District office stakeholders to identify needs assessments, budget and other enterprise account information.

Coordinates with the Office of Technology and Information Services (OTIS), DRP leadership team, and other DRP staff to improve desktop equipment and peripherals by recommending and developing purchases and other equipment that create efficiencies and maximizes budget goals. Disseminates information regarding upgrades, security and other software patches required to maintain compliance with Department level IT standards.

Provides phone support and training to DRP users for standardized PC desktop refresh protocol. Provides a clear point of contact for the Division for PC and other desktop related infrastructure needs. Maintains Cherwell ticketing for onboarding of new employee PC desktop and other active directory accounts. Helps to maintain inventories and other data tracking by paying close attention to the nature of inquiries and feedback from users and other stakeholders.

Performs other duties as assigned. Some travel required, occasionally over-night to perform mission critical duties.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Desktop PC environment, install, imaging and account management.
  • Purchasing and shipping.

SKILL IN:

  • Troubleshooting common desktop support requests in a distributed enterprise environment.
  • Using various tracking excel spreadsheets.
  • Maintaining and forecasting budget for the PC/desktop environment.
  • Interacting with all internal and external customers and the general public in a professional, tactful and courteous manner.
  • Utilizing a computer including, but not limited to, software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.

ABILITY TO:

  • Participate in planning sessions for budget evaluations.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions/directions.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Understand and apply rules, directives, policies, laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Successfully complete background & fingerprint check.

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid Driver License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active and relevant experience related to desktop purchase and set up.
  • Production of reports and other graphic materials in support of planning or presentation of program area goals and objectives.
  • Florida purchasing rules and requirements.
