This posting will be used to fill position vacancies in Career Service .

Current employees will be compensated in accordance with the DCF salary policy.

What you will do:

In this position you will be responsible for receiving, reviewing and assigning all abuse reports received from the Florida Abuse Hotline. Additionally you will follow up with the appropriate supervisory personnel to ensure they are aware of pending investigations and staff assignments.


How you will make an impact:

  • Print and review all abuse reports received from the Hotline and OTI requests called in from other counties. This requires coordination with the Florida Abuse Hotline Information system (FAHIS), Child Information System (CIS) and Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN).
  • Review appropriate databases for the previous or open investigations and child family involvement with other family safety programs.
  • Provide clerical support for a multi-function Family Safety Unit.
  • Prepare intake case records for Child Protective Investigator for cases received over the Child Abuse Hotline. *Case is then assigned in Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) and CPI is notified. This same procedure is followed for any Out-of-town Inquiry Request that is received.
  • Assign cases to CPI or CPI Supervisor.
  • Package investigation information and conduct diligent searches.
  • Archive case files and maintain rotation and case logs.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience.
  • Two years of clerical experience preferred.

  • Some Agency positions may require successful completion of pre-interview assessment or work sample prior to interview.
  • Ability to speak/read/write Spanish/Creole/French or other foreign language may be considered in the selection process as determined by Agency need at time of interview.
