What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Assistant position at The TemPositions Group of Companies?

We are currently looking for a self-motivated Legal Assistant to ensure the smooth running of a Legal Firm. The ideal candidate will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney and provide the office with effective support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide administrative support to lawyer(s) and enhance office effectiveness
  • Maintain calendars for attorneys which include scheduling meetings and arranging calls
  • Manage inflow and outflow of mail, visitors and phone calls. Learn clientele and build relationships that facilitate the highest level of client support
  • Draft and/or proofread documents and letters for attorney review and assume additional paralegal responsibilities
  • Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence
  • Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and providing timely reminders
  • Work as a team with other staff members on general office administration (e.g., maintaining office supplies, handling conference room needs, coordinating with various service providers)

Qualifications

  • Proven working experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary
  • Legal billing experience required
  • Familiarity with law, legal procedures, and protocols
  • Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
  • Computer literacy
  • Proficiency in English- Bilingual Hebrew or French a plus
  • Working knowledge of legal software & familiarity with legal documents and terminology
  • Excellent secretarial and organizational skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
  • Legal Assistant certification or diploma a plus
  • 5 years' experience as a legal assistant at a law firm
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams with the ability to type with a speed of at least 50 wpm with high accuracy
  • Self-starter with proven ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines

Pay: $52,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
