What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Supervisor position at The Terrace?

The Terrace a 40 bed basic care facility has an opening for a full time RN Supervisor. Monday - Friday, and on call every other week-end and holiday.

Qualifications:

Must hold current RN licensed in the state of North Dakota. Experience and knowledge of the Long-Term Care nursing field and working with the elderly is preferred. Must be able to work independently and have a good working knowledge of nursing and Basic Care Licensing requirements.

Excellent Communication Skills, both written and verbal.

General Responsibilities:

Act as resource to the nursing staff, primarily through the Nursing Department Head, secondarily through another Nurse Supervisor/LPN.
Develop policies and procedures as needed.
Update Policy and Procedure’s annually
Develop continuing education program for staff.
Plan and hold regular in-service meetings and monthly staff meetings.
Meet with the manager as necessary.
Meet with the nursing staff as necessary.
Chair the Infection Control Committee.
Coordinator of Health Issues; Education of Families, Residents, and Staff
Assist in handling difficult situations with families, physicians, staff, and residents.
Help prepare Terrace for Health Department Survey.
