Aerospace Drive Systems, a division of Timken Power Systems, is currently seeking a Program Manager to support operations for the Manchester, CT site. The primary purpose of this position is to sustain and grow the profitable business related to a specific Aerospace customer(s)and their platforms (i.e. programs). The Program Manager has a dual responsibility to execute contracts and provide leadership in the management of functional organizations, which produce product and provide customer support. The Program Manager acts as the single point of contact with customers during the manufacture and delivery of products and services, ensuring customer unique requirements are met.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Set program objectives based on a clear understanding of program trends, current and potential customer needs and competitive threats.
    • These objectives will include financial performance, contract execution, product/service development, business case/strategy development, etc.
  • Act as single point of contact during manufacture and delivery of products and services, ensuring program and customer requirements are met on time and within budget.
  • Lead and set proposal response strategy and development, to include proposal coordination and preparation, customer interaction and negotiation through contract award. This requires a working knowledge of contracts and flow-down of requirements within a matrix organization.
  • Coordinate and leverage the outside sales force to identify new projects and application requirements and overall sales opportunities to support company sales and profit goals.
  • Overall responsibility for achieving program sales and profit goals.
  • Manage specific Aerospace customers and their platforms:
    • Collaborate with ADS management in defining customer order requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Sales Plan Execution
    • Identify new projects and application requirements and overall sales opportunity to support company sales and profit goals
    • Meet company annual order intake plan (bookings)
    • Collaborate with ADS leadership team to develop customer-based sales plan including setting sales, and mix goals, prospering, establishing customer expectations, assessing won/lost business performance, pricing plans, new business attainment, competitive pricing, customer satisfaction surveys.

Technical/Functional Skills:

  • US Citizen or Green Card holder
  • Understanding of or experience with Sikorsky, Boeing or Bell helicopter divisions
  • Broad experience in Aerospace and Defense industry
  • Experience interacting with customers (i.e., sales, marketing, account management, customer service)
  • Ability to understand technical products and services
  • Strong negotiation skills and contract management within aerospace/tech environment
  • Ability to network at high level with customers as well as internal Timken teams
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to convert customer needs into program strategy and tactics

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Manufacturing
  • 10-12 years of experience in Sales, Manufacturing/Aerospace industry
