What are the responsibilities and job description for the Calibration Technician position at THE TOOL & GAGE HOUSE?
The Tool & Gage House, Inc. has an opening for a calibration technician in Sumter, SC. This position will be for the day shift M-F.
Duties Include: Managing the calibration system using reports generated by the Calibration Module. This level requires an advanced understanding of gages, calibration, and general quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
➢ Basic calibration of calipers, OD micrometers, ID micrometers, Indicators, etc.
➢ Shipping and receiving of all gages to be calibrated off-site.
➢ Update and maintain gauge lab uncertainty budget.
➢ Responsible for tracking: certification, Cert Due, and past due gages.
➢ Ensures completion of calibrations in a timely and efficient manner.
➢ Proper labeling and inscribing gages.
➢ Minor repair of gages.
➢ Ensure gages are clean, functioning, and protected prior to returning.
➢ Read and understand technical procedures, standards, engineering drawings, and inter-department correspondence, reports, and documentation.
➢ Enter calibration activities on a computerized asset management system (Calibration Module), including equipment records, events,s, and history.
➢ Document out of tolerance conditions on proper form and update gage in the Calibration Module.
➢ Maintain a neat, organized, and orderly calibration laboratory (5S) and an accurate filing system (calibration records).
➢ Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
➢ High School Diploma or equivalent
➢ Must have good English written and verbal communication skills
➢ Good arithmetic skills are required
➢ Mechanical aptitude desired
➢ 1 years of Quality Control experience is preferred.
➢ Working knowledge of measurement instruments: i.e., calipers, OD micrometers, ID micrometers, etc.
➢ General proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry material up to 50 pounds.
